New Beginnings

Well, hello there! I know I've really neglected this blog here, but a lot has gone on these past 7 months. Anyways I'm here writing (maybe for one last time) to let you all know that I've started a new blog. As I mention in my introduction on there, "I have decided that this blog will be for writing about what God has placed on my heart to say. Writing about what He is teaching me on certain days and recording Bible verses that stand out to me. Usually when I write I feel like I have to get everything perfect and correct, but that has, so to speak, put a hedge in even wanting to write anymore- a skill God has blessed me with. I have determined to get over that and just write what comes to my mind, what comes my heart, what God has revealed to me. To give up my want of perfection and let Him lead me in my writing. To use this gift of mine, this love of mine for His glory." I am in a way different place than I was when I first started this blog, Cascades of Grace. …

A Farewell

Sorry guys! I still haven't written in a long while. Wow, I truly can't believe how fast this summer has gone by and that we've already entered the month of August!

So far this summer has been one of big trial, change and growth. At the moment I don't want to write about the trial our family has been facing these few past months, but I'd just ask for your prayers if you felt lead. It is heavy andhard. I am so thankful for the Lord Jesus and His comfort to me during this time. He will carry ALL my burdens and emotions. I hope through this, He will draw me nearer to Him!

I have to say that, due to this unexpected circumstance in my life at the moment, I probably won't be blogging much, if at all, this next fall/year. I do enjoy it a lot (especially the writing part), but I've reached a point where it is something that I need to let go of for now.

So yeah, just please pray for me, my family and especially my dear mother. There may be a time later on where I wi…

A couple days ago I got back home from an awesome adventure to Grand Rapids, Michigan! I'll be posting the details of this trip soon, but for now here are a few pictures taken on the way there (most of these I plan to enter into our local county fair this summer)...

Michigan Trip

Realizing that I am running short on time this week, I have decided that I will do a quick post on my "exciting news" so that you don't have to wait any longer! I will do a more detailed post later ;)....
As you know, at the end of April I traveled down to Iowa with my mom for the AACT Region Five festival. Community theaters from Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and our fellow Minnesotans performed over the three days that we were there. We performed on Friday evening and it was our absolute best performance yet (which was awesome, because that was when it really counted)! Time has been a big thing for us. Each theater has an hour to present their production and if you happened to go over, you'd be disqualified. Well, during several practice sessions we performed just barely over an hour. Thankful for the real thing, the competition, we were just under that time!
Saturday morning, after attending church, my mom and I headed to the awards cer…

Hi there readers! No, I didn't fall off of the face of the earth, but I'm back again ;). Upon looking at my blog stats tonight, I was thrilled to find out that someone from Sweden has visited my blog! I love the Scandinavian countries and am hoping that I can tour them someday (particularly Norway).      Life got busy with finishing up school, graduation stuff, my summer job and a play. Thus, no time for blogging. But now I'm back and I'd like to write about my graduation ceremony and the events leading up to it!

Just a day shy from a month ago, I graduated from high school!! After changing my mind several times, I finally decided to go through ceremony with the homeschool organization we're involved in. It was an amazing, God-centered ceremony and I am so happy I got to be part of it!

Prior to our ceremony, we had several planning meetings with the group. It was a great way to get to know our fellow graduates and their families better. I met many new fr…

Lunar Eclipse

On April 4th, 2015 some of my family and I were able to witness a lunar eclipse. Also called a blood moon (as talked about in the Bible), this eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into its shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle ( Here in Minnesota, we were only able to see a partial eclipse because of the rising sun, but in September we will be able to witness a total red moon, the last lunar eclipse of the tetrad (four blood moons). You might already be aware of this, but did you know that "lunar" is Latin for "moon"? I love finding Latin words in our English language :)!

Here's a time-lapsed photo of the eclipse (at least my first attempt...). Each picture was taken individually, but then I used (an awesome, free photo editor!) to turn it into one.

After playing around with my camera …

Exciting News Coming Soon!!

Sorry to hold you in suspense like this, but I will be posting all details hopefully soon. So do check back again. (hint, hint: this news has to do with the production I've been involved in....) :D

Until then,
