Rabbits:
I have forgotten to write that I decided to re-open Minnesota Minis! I just purchased a rabbit tattooer, so hopefully (for the time being) that will help bring this business to a whole new level. I always tend to change my mind with the rabbits, so I'm not sure how long I'll continue the rabbitry. For now my plan is to keep Éowyn, a daughter of hers, Pippin and Ronald.

Baby Bunny Pictures:
The little ones are 3 weeks old now. They are adorable!

Les Misérables:
The production of Les Misérables ended Sunday afternoon. It was a wonderful and fun experience for me. The notes were challenging, yet I learned so much. I was grateful for the opportunity and am a bit sad that it has ended. But I have next year to look forward to (that is if I make the audition!).

Kayaking

Image
Today might be one of the hottest days we'll have this summer. Temperatures reached 92°F. This afternoon my siblings, mom, grandma (we call her Gigi~ she's from Florida and is visiting us for a few days) and I went kayaking in Lake Calhoun (the largest lake in Minneapolis). It was a perfect day to do something like that! I've been canoeing before, but I've never tried kayaking. I discovered that I like kayaking much better! But canoeing is still fun :). Sorry the pictures aren't that great!

Healthy Iced Chai Tea

Image
I don't like coffee or tea, but I LOVE chai tea! I've been trying to recreate a chai tea like the ones I've had at coffee shops, Starbucks, Caribou and Dunn Bros but nothing really turned out to my liking UNTIL I tried a certain recipe this afternoon. It's a perfect summer treat and even better it's much healthier than the coffee shop drinks!
The recipe below is based off of this one: http://detoxinista.com/2011/06/frozen-green-chai-latte/ (sorry, I forgot to take pictures as I was in a rush to get out the door).

Healthy Iced Chai Tea
1/2 an soft (ripe) avocado  1 1/2 cups water 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon ginger 1/8 teaspoon allspice 1/2 teaspoon vanilla a couple large handfuls of ice honey to sweeten (start out with a couple tablespoons add more if desired)
Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until everything is mixed together well.

Baby Bunnies

Image
Éowyn had a total of four babies. Sadly, the one I found this morning died L. Too much trauma for it's first hours of life. I have eight rabbits now!

A Morning Surprise

Image
This morning I went outside to give my rabbits water since it's been so hot the past few days. I opened up Éowyn, Rosie, Buttercup and Annie's door only to find a baby bunny lying on the floor of Éowyn and Rosie's cage! I thought, "How in the world did Éowyn have a baby if I had not bred her?!". Well..... it turns out, upon examining Rosie again, that Rosie is a BOY not a girl. So I switched her name to Ronald (still a LOTR/Hobbit name since J.R.R. Tolkien had Ronald in his name, right?). Sadly, I am going to have to sell my sweet Rosie (Ronald now)... I cannot have two male rabbits around. They take up too much cage space.
Éowyn on the other hand had absolutely no nest material this morning. So I grabbed her some timothy hay and she instantly started making a nest. She'll probably have more little ones later today.    The baby I found has a wound on it's leg. Probably from Ronald. It's a terrible idea to have a male and female in the same cage …
