Favorite Movie Soundtracks

I am currently taking a break from my chemistry test as I've already spent several hours studying for it today and my head's about to burst from all the math equations! Just have to take a break to clear my mind before I continue on with more problems... In the meantime, I thought I would post some of my favorite movie soundtracks (in no particular order)....

The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey (Apparently this is just the music from disc 1)

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader  (Couldn't find the full soundtrack anywhere, but you can listen to samples here. For now here's the official movie trailer...)

Les Misérables 2012
The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring

Hello everyone!
First of all it snowed again! A lot. And I'm so happy about it because I'm such a winter-loving person. Sorry if my snow reports have gotten a little repetitive :P. Sometimes it's the only thing I have to blog about.... :). But yes, we got a couple inches this time and it has actually stuck around for a few days!

Second, my rabbit Éowyn started to construct a nest last night! Most likely she'll be having a litter within these next few days. I'm excited to have little bunnies around again. They're so much fun!

Lastly, I have some exciting news to share with you all, which I'll be writing about in my next post (there's a lot to say). So.... stay tuned!

It's currently snowing as I write this. Big, fluffy, beautiful, wet snowflakes! If you stand outside too long you'll probably get soaked (like I did, only I got slightly wet J). I am so happy that it's snowing! Just this morning I was looking outside my bedroom window at the bare, brown grass thinking that it would be nice to have just one more snowfall. In my opinion, this snowfall is a good end to the last few days of winter....

The Last Goodbye

A couple months ago I found a pretty piano arrangement of the Last Goodbye (BOTFA) from this website (which also has all kinds of awesome music for practically any instrument). I really enjoyed working on this piece and even played it for our church's Valentine's Dinner back in February. Just wanted to share this find with my fellow Hobbit-fan and music readers J.

Fruit Dip

The other day I was preparing a snack to take to our Bible study for everyone. I decided upon caramel and apples. After slicing the apples, I started on the caramel sauce. Well..... we didn't have cream or milk, so I tried substituting different ingredients for that. After three attempts at it (which utterly failed), I was running out of time and knew that I had to make something else. I found a very delicious fruit dip that is super easy to make and only requires four ingredients. It tastes very refreshing on apples, but really you eat it with any type of fruit (pear, strawberry, banana, melon, grapes, etc.). The dip and apples went over very well after Bible study. Mission accomplished! Here's my variation of the recipe.....

If you choose apples or bananas: pour a little lemon juice over the fruit before serving to keep them from turning brown I made a big batch of this using a 24-ounce tub of Daisy Sour Cream. Just triple the whole recipe if you…

Have you ever struggled in your prayer life? I sure have. Sometimes I feel like I'm just repeating the same requests over and over to the Lord. That I'm just asking for selfish things. That my prayers aren't good enough. That other people pray "better" than me. That my prayers don't get answered. And sometimes I just don't feel like praying at all. Ever had those feelings?

Recently I have been struggling in my prayer life. A conversation with my mom this past Friday lead to this subject. After discussion, some tears and prayer, there were three times this week when the Lord encouraged me in this struggle. Three times. It's no coincident, it was totally God.

On Friday in my Bible time I happened to be reading Deuteronomy 4 and stumbled across these two verses:

What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? (4:7 NIV)
But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you wi…

Afternoon Fun...

Happy March! Spring's just around the corner..... This week we're supposed to get some snow on Tuesday and it's still going to be cold here, but next weekend the high temp is supposed to be in the forties! I can't believe it's already March and winter is just about over! The time really went by fast this year (although at the same time it feels like winter goes on forever~ at least it feels like that here in MN where it most often seems that we have about four months of warmth and eight months of cold ;) ).

This afternoon we (as well as other people from our church) went over to our friend's house and had an absolute blast! We got to go four-wheeling around their property and also spent an hour or so doing "donuts" on the ice with their suburban and another family's truck. It was such fun! I am so grateful for such awesome friends & fun :)!
